After packing up my life & moving to Kamala I have settled into a great life here with some amazing friends. I never imagined packing up my life again (and so soon) would be so hard. So what am I going to miss? EVERYTHING! But let me try & break it down a little.

My job – leaving a career of 7 years meant that starting a new job was a slightly daunting thought. But everyone at PHGBTU was incredibly welcoming to me. They went out of their way to ensure I didn’t feel like the newbie for too long. Right down to letting me dance in the office and lie on the floor.

Coconut Club – there is NOTHING like the feeling of seeing a small Thai child run across a school oval and throw themselves at you. It is incredible how much love, laughter & joy they have to give. From children who have nothing. I can only hope I have made a small difference to their lives.

Dinners – it is pretty much a party of our daily routine that we eat together. Usually on the beach at Nanork or somewhere that Graham is happy with. This is where the day’s debrief happens and of course the now famous ‘Win of the day’.

The beach – what a luxury to finish the day & literally walk to the beach. And such a beautiful beach! I was lucky enough to experience both sides of it – high season with stunningly clear calm turquoise water and low season, where we get the beach back from the tourists and the surfers come out.

My friends – I cannot express enough how much these people have impacted my life. Moving to a new place where I knew no one was made so much easier by these people. They accepted me as one of their own straight away & I will always be grateful for that.

Of course there are so many other things I will miss – my house, the freedom of riding bike, good Thai food, fire twirling on the beach till 3am – but they are now all part of my collage of Kamala memories.

Thank you Kamala for having me x
