Apologies for not blogging sooner! I have basically spent the last 2 glorious months seeing friends and family, preferring to spend time with them than in front of a screen. But I HAVE missed blogging, so here is the update.
I flew to Australia in early February, primarily for my mum’s 60th birthday party. Which was fabulous! We also spent almost every day at the beach, seeing friends or just enjoying the sun.
I even got a surprise visitor from NZ!!
Elmar and I also threw on a wedding celebration party for my Australian crew who couldn’t make it. A HUGE thank you must go to Ruth and Nat who pulled together the best celebration we could have hoped for. They made us recreate our first dance, set up a photo booth for us and even managed to get everyone drinking schnapps!
And yes, we are wearing traditional Austrian dress!
For our honeymoon we planned to start with 3 days in Sydney to show husband all the iconic spots. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach etc. It was so cool to watch him get excited about things that seem normal for me. He was absolutely wrapped to see the Opera House and played the tourist to perfection, taking shot after shot, looking for the perfect angle. To him it was furtherest place from Austria, a symbol of the end of the world.
We spent a day in Manly, walking the coast, swimming and eating ice-cream. We lay in the sun and bought typical souvenirs for friends back home. We even got to catch up with friends from Thailand!
After a final day exploring the city and Darling Harbour, it was time to depart.
As always, Australia you have been incredible. We’ll see you at Christmas!

The reason I stayed in Mexico so long… Day of the Dead
The reason I stayed so long in Mexico was purely so that I could see the Day of the Dead. It is a celebration of all who have passed on and ensuring they are remembered. And Puebla was were I was going to do it! Upon arriving in Puebla I was promptly adopted by Alan...
Wearing sunscreen to the bathroom
You know you are in an exotic location like the Gili Islands when you have an outdoor bathroom. There is just something about it that screams HOLIDAY! Add to that the fact that the bar at the beach club had swing seats. So. Impressed. We had arrived on Gili Air, one...
