Dear Readers,
Forgive me for I have sinned….it has been at least a month since my last blog post. Well, technically I have written about getting my visa, but that post probably should remain unpublished so as to not upset the powers that be. Forgive me.
Since Elmar left Australia my life has been a whirlwind of visits, houses, suitcases and appointments. I have been trying to file away a past life while packing for another. My summer wardrobe of the past 3 years has been stuffed in a vac-seal bag and shoved under a bed. In its place is a cut-down version of a winter wardrobe filled with jackets, scarves and other woollen attire.

The last 2 months in Australia have given me so many highlights, things I have missed out on while being away. Dinner parties with friends, being a part of birthday celebrations, seeing babies I have never met and of course, family time. This is the main reason for staying so long. Getting to spend weeks at a time with my mum and dad has been a true joy and will sustain me when I again depart.

(So many catch ups!)

(Arrival day!)

(Meeting Mitchell..and seeing Hayden grown up!)

(Such a gorgeous family!)

(Canoeing with dad)

(The yearly group selfie of the Mother’s Wine Club)

(Thailand meets Noosa)

Then there has been the joyful process of attaining a visa. Suffice to say that in true bureaucratic fashion, the process was as frustrating as expected despite the amount of research that had gone into it. I have however created the new “Visa Application Weight Loss Diet” which will lead me to look like a supermodel in no time. (For anyone interested in reading my unpublishable visa blog, please let me know).

So, with 5 days to go I am busy tying up loose ends, attempting to creatively pack and sneak as much weight into Austria as possible and say final goodbyes. Elmar has already taken 2 loads of my belongings back with him…but hey, a girl needs shoes!
Wish me luck!

PS. If I am missing your photo, please don’t be upset. I realise I need to take more photos…and upgrade my camera phone!
