Phew, most of the flights are now booked.  Very relieved to finally have got that sorted.  Took a good 3 HOURS to get it sorted though.  Wow.  Between Air Asia, Vietnam Airlines and Lao Airlines I can pretty much tell you where and when you can fly anywhere around Aisa!  Surprisingly, it was difficult to find flights between destinations in the order I wanted to go.  Seems you can’t easily fly between some of these places, hence the 3 different airlines.  Well, maybe I will start up a website to review different airlines food…
Have decided that after the weddings are finished, I will need some ‘down time’ so I have planned for 3 nights on Langkawi.  Apparently it isn’t too far from where we are staying, so fairly easy to get to, and  it looks AMAZING!  3 days by the beach will be just perfect.  I figure that while the ‘weddings’ are occurring, I’ll be doing family stuff, so Langkawi might kick off the official ‘holiday’ part of the trip.
After Langkawi, it is off to Cambodia, where I’ll be staying in Phnom Penh & Siem Reap.  After Cambodia, it is off to Luang Prabang in the north of Laos, then Vientiane, the capital.  From all reports, Laos is supposed to be fantastic, and I am really really looking forward to going.  After Laos it is back to KL for a girls weekend, then off to Borneo for a week.  May as well do as much as I can, while I can!
So now basic itinerary is worked out.  Flights are booked, and paid for (that’s why I am glad they are still printing money) just need to sort out accommodation and adventures!  After consulting ‘The bible’ – aka Lonely Planet – I have begun scouring for hotels.  So many cheap but great options in Asia.  I love it!  Have also been looking at wotif.com.  I just love the fact that I can potentially leave booking places till the last minute, and still get somewhere great.
While I am in the mode of spending money, I think I’ll go buy my camera online tonight.  Have done some research and found the best price online.  Seems to be a good $300 cheaper than anywhere else.  Did check out a ‘Camera Special’ that Clive Peters was having this weekend, only to find out that their price is $500 more than any other store I’ve been to!!  What the?!  Needless to say that I walked out without a camera!
But….I have a dress!
