The opportunity to catch up with my dad when he was merely a 1.5hr flight away was too much to pass up. I headed off for a Singaporean reunion.
With some time to myself either side of Dad’s visit, it was the perfect opportunity to catch up with the gorgeous Laura for the ultimate walking wine tour of Singapore.

We visited the Angel Bar where when you order a bottle of wine an angel flies up to get your bottle out of the 3 storey wine fridge. We wandered the streets of Little India and Arab Street before ending up admiring the view of the incredible Marina Bay Sands hotel…a boat perched on top of 3 buildings. It’s likely you’ll recognize it…it’s in the photos of anyone who has ever been to Singapore.

Then it was time to see Dad. Having just come off a 2 week cruise he was keen for exercise so we spent time wandering, eating, taking in the sights of Singapore and generally catching up.
And even though Dad and Judith has just spent two weeks in China, we headed to Chinatown…just in case this Chinatown had something different from every other Chinatown in the world. It didn’t.
Of course we took time out to see the famous ‘Raffles Hotel’ and have drinks in the Long Bar…
We spent time at the Singapore Zoo. While not the biggest fan of zoo’s in general, I have to say I was impressed. Giraffes, zebras, meerkats, elephants, tigers and even penguins & polar bears…though the polar bears were hiding out in their air conditioned room and we didn’t get to see them. Can’t blame them really…it was HOT.

(Meerkat!!)

(Attempting a selfie with a polar bear…no luck)
We took a walk through the botanical gardens which were actually quite beautiful.

And I ate…. I ate foods that are harder to come by in Kamala like sushi, Mexican, Indian. And Hagan Daz ice-cream. Surely it’s ok to indulge with an ice cream that is bigger than your head…right?
Thank you Singapore and thank you to my dad! X
