Though it's a bit delayed, I thought I better get up a blog about Christmas & NYE.
When you are overseas they say it is your friends that become your family and that is so true. I was lucky enough this Christmas to blend my 2 worlds and have my Australian family meet my Phuket family.
After a setback which saw us lose one of the 'Team Thailand'' (mum had a serious accident & couldn't make it), they arrived. Friends & family from Australia. The night before I was so excited I could barely sleep! They even got a welcome sign!
What followed next was a mix of nights on the beach, boat trips, taxi rides, shopping, dinners, scootering, markets & drinks. Christmas was at a friends place (thanks Kylie and Albert!) and was such a good day! There was even a turkey – a HUGE turkey. The day ended with drinks in the pool and dancing in the living room. Fabulous.
NYE was also another great night. We started with dinner and drinks at a friends place (thanks T & G!) before heading to the beach. We sat in the sand drinking champagne (courtesy of resident caterer Annabel) and watched fire twirling and the general public set off fireworks wherever and whenever they liked.
