There comes a time in every travelers travels that they must stop for a least a couple of weeks. For me it was Sucre over Christmas and New Year. You saw what Christmas was like, so here are some shots of the great group of people I spent NYE with!
(Kicking off with Vodka in a mug)
(Representing America, England, Brazil and Australia!)
(Brazil opening the champagne in the main square)
(Band in the main square)
(Making offerings for a prosperous new year)
(Rum anyone?)
(Drunk people marching through the streets….the next morning)
But I also did some sight seeing. We visited some local villages outside of town and walked an old Inca trail over the mountains. Stunning scenery.
(Devil’s waterfall)
(King of the world!)
(Offerings at a local church – both Catholic and Incan)
Finally, here are a few shots in and around Sucre itself to prove that I did actually get out and see the town!
(Tom and Sulei are clearly a little tall for the market…)
(Need to make a call?)
(View over town)
(Ready to hit a Bolivian nightclub)
I also visited the local cemetery – seems weird but it more like a park than a cemetery. Except for the gravestones…
