With time to spare we decided to hit up a new country…Uruguay!
Steeped in history Colonia is a must see spot in Uruguay. And taking the fast boat it’s only an hour away from Buenos Aires.
The town is famous for being a Portugese colony before the Spanish took over. The historical part has cobbled roads, an old lighthouse and other ruins, surrounded by the old city wall.
(The old city wall)
It’s hard to be a bad photographer here. There are just too many good shots! Cute coffee shops and old cars abound.

(Mum meeting the locals!)
(The ‘sign’ for the local aquarium, clever!)
